After Innocence by Brenda Joyce (1994)

by Brigade
(USA)

My favorite romance book of all time is After Innocence by Brenda Joyce. I first read it in 1995 when I was 18 years old and it has left an impression on me.

It's a historical romance book about a gifted painter named Sofie. She's considered a 'cripple' because she walks with a limp. The hero Edward helps her come out of her shell and live for the first time in her life. The hero isn't alpha or abusive in anyway.

I'm terrible at expressing my thoughts and don't really know what to say about why I love it. So I'll just say it's so worth reading.
