BARRACUDA BOOK SYNOPSIS
---
A fast paced story of an Ex-Bronx, New York Cop, Mick O'Shaughnessy, who vacations in the Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands while needing some time away from the big city.
Unbeknownst to him, there is Mafia intrigue and international money laundering going on in the midst of the resort where he is trying to relax and do some diving. Furthermore, heavy nuclear testing went on at Bikini Atoll back in the mid-20th century and what lies underneath of the waters proves to be an even bigger challenge for Mick than the Mafia!
Great Barracuda!
Fast paced and full of energy, this fictional novel leads the reader right into a web of mystery and a perilous sea where a mutant Barracuda
fish lives, treating all scuba divers as fair game. Monahan incorporates the sunken WWII warships in the Bikini Atoll, incredible factual
information about the nuclear testing during the mid-20th century, and extensive scuba diving knowledge against a background of murder, mystery,
and intrigue.
QUEENIE B SAYS

Loved it! Author Mike Monahan puts a new spin on an old classic - good guy vs. bad guy and man vs. sea predator. This is not the first time a tale has been related successfully about advanced sea life that preys on mankind. Great fodder for thought about the damage done to the oceanic environment by nuclear testing.
The book should be made into a movie with all its action packed drama! Yes, its reminiscent of Jaws or Deep Blue Sea, but definitely has a life of its own with the incorporation of the Mafia mystery. The story is well researched and the scuba diving knowledge is a dream come true for all you divers out there! There is much to learn here and an adventure to enjoy!
Some readers may find themselves off to a slow start in the first fifty pages, as they primarily present the information and facts the story is based around. But hold on and stick with it because these facts are essential to the plot. All of the sudden youll find the story will grab your interest - full throttle - finishing with a slam dunk ending!
Mike Monahan's first book proves to be a great read and Im looking forward to the sequel.
