What we Recommend & Other Things
One of the best things we feel that we can bring to your book club meetings are recommendations (or two, or ten!) for great book club books. While
it's important for your club to learn the basics of starting a book club, figure out some fantastic book club meeting ideas, and think creatively
about your book club menu, it's also equally important to stay on the cutting edge of what's new in the world of popular book club books.
For this reason, the Queenies of BCQ have always worked tirelessly on reading and reviewing as many books as we can get our hands on, so that you may have a multitude of options when choosing your book club books. We have shared these reviews with you in many ways over the past five-and-a-half years, including:
We have also hosted reviews from other readers, including:
- Reader Book Reviews (written by YOU, for you).
- Reader Favorites (written by readers, sharing their favorite books of all time).
- Author Zone (written by the Authors for the Readers, a place for all published writers to share their work).
So what has changed?!
Nothing!
Well, okay, something has changed, but NOT the fact that we still read books like it's our job! Or the fact that we will bring you decent, honest book reviews! It's just that we've decided to change the format. Let me explain...
So as life gets busier and busier, the ways in which the different Queenies are able to share their book reviews has changed. Queenie B wants to share reviews with you only when she reads a really fantastic nonfiction book (I know, I know, we've tried to convince her to review EVERYTHING she reads, but she says she wouldn't have enough time in the day to do anything but write reviews!). Queenie C wants to be able to write her reviews for you immediately in a blog-type format. Queenie D wants to continue to write reviews but can't keep up with as many as before because of the time it takes to maintain the website itself.
What does this mean for our readers?
It means that you will STILL find great book club books here! It means that you will STILL be able to submit books for review if you are an author or publishing agent! It means that you will STILL read our book club recommendations, just maybe in a different format! Use the resource links above to check out all the books we've read & reviewed, and the authors we've interviewed over the years. You will find MANY fantastic book club books for your group in these pages. Also, keep up with Queenie C's book blog, as she will read and immediately release her book reviews for our readers.
