Blurb:

Do you believe in vampires? I sure didn't. Not until on my 16th birthday when I discovered I'm anything but human. And to add the cherry on the freaky sundae called my life, I'm the first Vanator born in over 500 years. You see, it means I'm destined to be a hunter of evil. That's right; I'm a real life Buffy. And to make matters worse, I'm falling for Ryan-this new guy at school. I never thought I'd be this love struck, hair tossing, dorky teenager. It's enough to make me want to hurl. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that on top of all this, I have an entity stalking me that wants to use my rare blood for his own evil deeds, a girl at school who lives to make my life miserable, and a gymnastics coach who is determined to see I make it to Nationals. Yep, things are really looking up for me. Welcome to the never boring, anything by normal, you never know what's going to happen life of Cheyenne Wilde.

Reviews:

Cave of Terror by Amber Dawn Bell is the perfect Young Adult read for those girls that enjoy a little bit of chick-lit with a hint of paranormal romance. Ms. Bell weaves her words perfectly entwining real teen emotions, thoughts, and feelings; all-the-while keeping it clean and enjoyable. I would absolutely read another book penned by the talented Amber Dawn Bell. 5 Hearts

Our heroine has a very distinct narrative voice. It is not hard to imagine her as a nice, likable teen, who suddenly finds herself as part of a world she never had a clue existed. She is bright, funny, loyal to her friends, and a tad sarcastic. Cheyenne's narration provides humor and drama in this delightful young adult story. I'm looking forward to more adventures with her. The next book in the series is A Ghostly Affair: Vanator Diary Series will be published in late 2009.

~Patricia, Patricia’s Vampire Notes

Highly entertaining and fun, Cave of Terror was impossible to put down. Though at times dark and evil, Ms. Bell never failed to inject some light-hearted humor into the story. Delightfully funny with a true sense of teenagers, Cheyenne’s character will appeal to many girls of that age. She is believable and her emotional struggles are on par with most teens. I found this to be an easy read; the author gave just enough background to understand the workings of her vampires without boring the reader. I truly enjoyed the male characters, Ryan and Constantine. Ryan was adorable and a teenager’s dream. Constantine was deliciously dark. I look forward to reading more by this talented author. Ms. Bell has done an admirable job of telling a story suitable for young adults.

Five stars for Amber Dawn Bell's Cave of Terror
by: Tamara

Cave of Terror is a thoroughly attention-grabbing young adult paranormal romance. This first book in the Vânător series is compelling and a fast read. It captures the energy of young first love and spins an intriguing romance for young Cheyenne Wilde, the first Vânător in five hundred years--born to hunt evil. Can't wait to see what fate has in store for Cheyenne Wilde, her soul mate Ryan, and her best friend, Mandy...
Evil beware...There's a new Vânător in town!

Best YA in years
by: Lindsay

Cave of Terror isn't your typical paranormal vampire read. It's a story about a sixteen year old gymnast who wants nothing more than to lead a normal life. Well, as normal as a sixteen year old girl who spends five hours a day in the gym can be. Unfortunately, she finds that near impossible once she learns she's not only a vampire but a hunter of evil as well.
What makes this story so compelling is you experience Cheyenne Wilde through her eyes, actions, thoughts and feelings. From the first touch on her hand by Ryan, who calls her `Sparky,' to being dive bombed by bats to her first kiss.
After watching gymnastics in the Olympics this past summer, it was interesting to get an inside look at what gymnasts endure. Scattered through the story, the reader sees what their training is like. Hard and demanding. The gym scenes don't detract from the story but add an interesting element.
One of the funniest parts for me was when Cheyenne sensed Ryan was going to kiss her good night. To make sure her breath didn't reek like garlic, she chews a piece of gum. Right when the kiss is about to happen, she realizes she still has the gum in her mouth. Sorry, you'll have to read the book to see how she handles it.
This story is well written and highly entertaining, showing a glimpse into the life of a sixteen year old girl. Without a doubt, one of the better YA vampire books to come out in a long time.
When I picked this book up to read, I couldn't put it down until it was finished. So, be prepared to put your life on hold.

Not just for YAs
by: VLSpann

My husband (a fan of romance but not of paranormal) and I (not really a fan of either) both read Cave of Terror and LOVED IT! I found myself reading faster and faster, hardly being able to wait to see what happened next.
The story is positive, youthful, funny, suspenseful...I was surprised and pleased to try a different genre and enjoy it so thoroughly.
