We all like different things. We all want to be unique in some way. Here I want to share with you what I call our Cookbook Gems.
As we've previously discussed, there are countless popular food cookbooks out there. We've already gone over the best of the best food network chefs as well as a few food themed cookbooks.
A Food Tradition Cookbook Gem is one that we've found or used over the years that is one of a couple of things. It's either:
Whatever the case may be, we consider this part of our "tried and true" collection of cookbooks with wonderful recipes.
- An unusual cookbook you may not find easily,
- A generic looking cookbook that actually has great popular food dishes,
- An everyday cookbook with food traditions worth trying.
Recipe for Crab - from Chesapeake Maryland
If you're from Maryland you know that there is nothing quite like a blue claw crab. If you're not from Maryland but love to eat crabs, you spend all your time trying to get even just a dozen from our beautiful Chesapeake bay.
Crabs, like everything else, can be cooked many ways. But the only true way to do it is Maryland style.
Our cookbook gem for this popular food is:
The Crab Cookbook by Whitey Schmidt.
Our pick from this book: Old Bay Crab Cakes
