Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

I read this book as a teenager and it did truly impact my life from then forward. I came to realize that if one tried hard enough, good things would come in life. Also, because he met near disaster at the end, I learned to not forget from whence you came and to not depend totally on others.

Anyway, I still think it an excellent book for late teens and even nowadays those in their 20s. It may be hard for some young people to "get into" the book but if they persist for 20 pages or so, they will be greatly rewarded.
