John Grisham - The Client

I first read this book at the age of 17. I have always enjoyed reading but somehow this book and this author captivated my imagination for years. The opening scene of the book is my favorite, with the descriptions and tone creating a vivid picture in my mind.

I was so pleased when the movie was made, however, as with most films based on literature, it wasn't as I had imagined! For this reason I am never first to watch a film based on the novel - I prefer the use of my imagination...

I once heard a saying "The characters in a book only come alive when you read it"... I love that a story creates people, lives, situations that are so captivating that some days you wish you didn't have to do anything else but read! Its an escape from everyday life, the routine, the little hassles, the mundane situations...
For me, reading will always be a big part of my life and hopefully with some guidance, my children s too!
