Let the Great World Spin by Column McCan

I wanted to EAT the words of this book, they were so delicious. Line after line after line just knocked the breath clean out of me. My reading progress was also delayed by the necessity of running from my reading room to the living room to read my husband a poignant passage or two... or fifty-seven. There were moments when I couldn't see the page for the tears or the slanted, wincing expression that the excessively vivid writing forced on my face.

The plot was masterfully constructed, but I'm convinced that Colum McCann could have written a grocery list, and it would have somehow brought me to tears. He's that good. He's that gifted.
