Looking for fun, humorous books
by Christie
(Sacramento CA)
We are looking for book recommendations of fun, humorous and interesting books. We have read the Charlaine Harris "Dead" series, doing Christopher Moore's "Lamb" next, and then probably Jasper Fforde's "Tuesday Next" book.
We are a group of professional women that work long hours, read a lot for work and on our own time, and our book club is focused on reading some fun things that will make us laugh and goes good with sangria! Any suggestions welcome!
Queenie D's Response:
Hi Christie! Your book club sounds really fun! Jasper Fforde's series are definitely unique and quirky, a perfect fit for what you are describing.
Here are a few recommendations: 1. Mia King - she writes really fun, cute, heartwarming stories with fantastic female heroines. Try Table Manners.
2. Rhys Bowen - a mystery author that has several different series, of which I recommend the Royal Spyness mysteries. She's clever and her characters live such spoiled, silly lives that a reader can't help but smile!
3. Rowena Cherry - alien romance novels. Sounds crazy right? Rowena is incredibly witty and her alien worlds rival the intricacies and detail of Harry Potter. Definitely a fun author. Try Insufficient Mating Material.
Hope this helps! Come back and tell us all about what you've chosen.
Happy Reading!
