Need ideas for a book club for kids

by kelly
(iringa, tanzania)

I'm working in an international school in Tanzania. I generally teach upper-level students but I've been assigned to run the book club for kids ages 8 to 12, all at different levels of English (books will be in English), all reading different books. Looking for activities to do for an hour a week around books and reading...any suggestions?

Pencil Monster!
by: Anonymous

Hello,
I am a primary school teacher who wanted to create a book where the kids get to be a part of the process! Each page in the story is blank for students to create their own illustrations. I think any elementary school aged child and their parents would have fun with this book. The download version is well priced so teachers can print it out....only $2.50. This would be an excellent idea for a class project, for kids who finish their work early, or a great way to test a child's comprehension. Parents who need to keep their kids busy on a rainy day would also enjoy it! My own students love this book because they helped create it!
Thank you!
