Most of the poems have an autobiographical touch in them. The experiences which the author had in the countries like Africa, Malaysia, Maldives provided the subject matter for the poems. The first poem " My Dearest " was written when the author felt lonely without his wife in Maldives. The poems that refer to the sea, the fish "Tuna" and "tsunami" are connected with the moments when the author was in Maldives. The African village and life are depicted in some poems were the experiences while the autor was an expatriate teacher. The poem on " Orang Utan" was the experience in Malaya. Then the thoughts racing in the author's mind ever since childhood have been depicted in some poems where he has not found any solution to the mystery of life and the Almighty Power which was felt but not seen.
