Jack Prinston is running the United States in the decade of the 2030's as only he knows best - with corruption, murder, and mayhem. Unbeknownst to his fellow Americans, he is stealing from taxpayers and lining his own pockets. All the public knows is that he is an "every day man" who has made mistakes and done bad things but doesn't pretend to be otherwise. The country would call him, "a good man."
Unfortunately for Jack, he has hurt too many people, broken too many promises, and dealt too many low blows in his life. The people with whom he feels the safest are the ones who are about to turn their back on him.
All the while Jack's son, Nathan, is finding a new path in life by following the example of Albert Frank, the White House plumber. It is Nathan's awakening that just might be the answer to Jack's salvation.

This book is interesting because the story is very unexpected. The idea that a "good man" is one who shows his good and bad side to all, is a twist on what we would normally consider this type of man to be. The fact that the author is describing the President of the U.S. this way is even more interesting.
The shocking aspect of this books is that it is very spiritual and definitely has a message to send. The message is of salvation and redemption from a life of sin. It's easy to see that the author believes the words his preacher character, Albert, shares with people. While this is a unique spin on the story, it could also come off to some readers as "preachy." I was not expecting the story to go in this direction and I still can't say for sure whether I liked the twist or not.
My main issue with the book was the style of writing. While the ideas were somewhat compelling, this book definitely needs a scrupulous editor!
