This is a story of a young woman and her son who are held prison in a "room". It is home to Jack (the son), but to "Ma" it is where she has been held for 7 long years. She has created a life for Jack in this room. Her fierce love for him has kept both of them alive. About one third of the way into the story, a turn of events keeps you intrigued. The book was divided into to parts for me. I couldn't put it down.
This was one of the best books I have read. The story line is intriguing and vaguely familiar. The love between a mother and her son is intense. You will be transported into "room" by the end of the first chapter. The love that Ma has for Jack is unbelievable. She tries to keep life as they know it normal, in a very abnormal setting. It takes all of she has to keep herself going for his sake. You you will love this book.
