Book Club Queen

Science fiction.

We are trying to expand our experience in our club to include a science fiction novel. Any suggestions?

Queenie D Says:

Try The Book by Michal Ajvaz, the number one Amazon Sci-Fi editor pic for 2010.

Also, 1984 by George Orwell always sparks great discussion.

The Crimson Knights

I suggest the Crimson Knights: Book One: Rautpa's Gate By James M. Watts. It's a dark and gritty sci-fi/fanatsy. Awesome read and cool characters.

The Enders series is well written. I am now reading The Lost Gate.

It's classified as Sci Fi but might lean more towards Fantasy as Harry Potter. Depends upon your definition of Sci Fi

ScienceFiction

Take a look at Kim Stanley Robinson - The Mars Trilogy - Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars, the Science in the Capitol Trilogy, The Years of Rice and Salt, Antarctica. Excellent writing, plot, characterization, and the science is accurate and informative.

Also suggest Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Steven Stirling.

Almost forgot

There is another sci-fi series, a cleaner series then the Death Lands series and with a classic sci-fi feel. Hal Spacejock. Not a bad read.

I agree

I agree with 1984. It is an excellent read. There is a novel series called Death Lands for the more daring reader that is pretty interesting. It was one of my inspirations to start writing. The running Man is also a good read.
