| Self Help Book Reviews: Why Mr. Right Can't Find You |

This book touches on many issues present in the mind of all women as they search for a lifetime mate. Things like "where is he? does he love me? does he find me attractive?" are a few of the questions the author sheds light on.
There are three main sections explaining how you can find Mr. Right:
- Finding Mr. Right in the Real World
- Recognizing Mr. Right: The True and False Signs of compatibility
- Finding Mr. Right Online

In a society where He's Just Not That Into You is a mantra, J.M. Kearns' book is a refreshing perspective on the battle of finding your mate. Notice I don't say the world "soul mate" because Kearns makes no bones about the fact that there are certainly mates out there for you and you don't have to limit yourself to thinking if you don't find the "one" you have no hope.
I'll admit I'm a skeptic when it comes to the self-help genre, particularly on relationships, so I was pleasantly surprised by Why Mr. Right's wit, humor, and bold statements. As a woman, reading about Mr. Right from a man's perspective seems a bit off balance. But Kearns is honest about what men are looking for, and yes he does include some talk about sexual chemistry. However, and that's a big however, he explains that "different men like different bodies." It's wonderful to hear a man say that not every single woman must look like Angelina in order to find her Brad. There's a Brad for every woman!
The most interesting theory behind this book is the "sighting" Kearns describes. Basically a sighting is when a man sees a woman he is attracted to both physically and emotionally but is often too nervous or intimidated to approach her. According to Kearns, many a good match is lost because the woman doesn't correctly read the signs and invite the man's "sighting" of her to turn into an actual conversation. I think most women can remember at least one time when they were looked at by a man in more than just a sexual way. I bet you can go as far as to say the thought crossed your mind that he liked you. Women ARE intuitive creatures. If we would just take the advice in Why Mr. Right Can't Find You we would be bold enough to approach the man who has sighted us or at least make ourselves more available to him. Interesting concept.
So ladies, leave your girlfriends at home and head for the bars. Yes, the bars - even that myth is debunked in this book. There are Mr. Right's everywhere and they are just waiting for you to come sit down next to them!
"A good man who would love to meet you is quite possibly sitting in a pub right now. There's an empty stool beside him."
