Shelby and Cricket Bunny!

by Kimberley Rodriguez
(McAllen, Texas. USA)

This is a delightful childrens book beautifully illustrated in watercolor. This is the first in the Shelby and Cricket series.

All proceeds go to The ShelbyR Foundation to help children with cancer.

Shelby is a little girl. She is bright and funny. She loves to play make- believe with her mommy, her dolls and her favorite stuffed animals. She is a happy girl. She is almost three.

Shelby has Leukemia. That means that her blood is sick. The doctors are working to help get her well. She goes to a special clinic every week. She gets medicine called chemotherapy. The nurses check her blood. She has a special tube called a port inside her body. The medicine goes into the port.

Sometimes she has to stay in the hospital. Her mommy always stays with her.

Shelby has a great imagination. Sometimes Shelby pretends she is Cricket. She likes to close her eyes and smile. Mommy knows Shelby is imagining she is Cricket.

Cricket does not speak. She is very quiet and still. Her expressions and gestures are her words. Cricket is kind and thoughtful. She likes to jump and fly with her special little wings. She can go places and do things that Shelby cannot do.

Cricket helps Shelby feel better when she is sad or feeling sick. And when she just wants to fly and be free!

Join Shelby and Cricket's adventure as she discovers new places and finds new friends!
