She's Come Undone By Wally Lamb

A wonderful journey into the mind of a lonely, obese girl. This book touched my heart as I journeyed, along with the author into the mind of a lonely girl, Delores Price, whose life centers around the delivery of a television set in 1956. Her father's coldness, her mother's mental illness, and her grandmother's pride set the scene for a girl who is so lonely, she turns to food for comfort. Add to that, the upstairs neighbor, Jack Speight, who betrays this young girls trust and you have the makings for a must read. As she grew older, the reader can't help but empathize with this young girl, until you begin to realize that her musings are actually the result of an inherited mental illness.

This book made me cry, cheer, and laugh. Although it is a long read, the time passes quickly as you can't help but to get sucked into Delores' journey. My favorite book of all time that I read over and over.
