| Short Book Summary: Eden's Ridge |
|---|
When Lindsey Briggs puts her cowboy boots on underneath her mother's wedding dress, she knows the direction she's headed is not down the aisle. As Grandma Sarah tells her later, she was "being led by her head" rather than her heart. Luckily for Lindsey, her crafty old grandma was able to nudge her in the right direction so that she made the decision to follow her dreams, and her heart, to Nashville.
On her first night in Tennessee Lindsey is fortunate enough to meet Gabby and J.J. who quickly become her closest friends, roommates, and the other band members of her newly formed band Sugar Creek. So it is that Lindsey is off and running towards her dreams. And the one thing she knows she does NOT have time for is love.
So when Michael James walks into her life unexpectedly, the last thing Lindsey wants is to fall for him. But the heart wants what it wants as Lindsey will soon learn when Grandma Sarah reveals a deep family secret, hidden for many years.
What remains is to learn whether Lindsey will follow her head, her heart, or maybe - this time - both.

A great book club book! There is lots of room for discussion about love, relationships, families, dreams, and mistakes. The book has the potential to generate a book discussion that lasts for hours!
Probably the best, and most unexpected part of this book is that you'll get to read two very romantic love stories with a strong female character at their center. Be warned though - this is the kind of love that will fill your heart up to it's bursting point and leave you feeling empty when you find out how each story ends. But as they say "tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
If you're not a fan of country music, don't be turned off by it's dominance in this story. Actually, by the end of the novel, I have a feeling you'll be looking up some of the famous singers referenced in the story on YouTube!

- Did Lindsey do the right thing by leaving Herschel at the altar?
- How has being raised by two women, neither her mother, affected Lindsey as an adult?
- Did Sarah's story surprise you? Why or why not?
