Young Adult Book Club

Staring a Young Adult Book Club
Follow these few simple rules for starting a book club that will be successful!

  1. Choose 3-4 other people that are interested in reading.

  2. Decide upon a time and date to meet. A local bookstore, Starbucks, or favorite eating spot is a good choice.

  3. Decide who will choose the first book you will read. Then decide the order of who chooses books. This avoids future confrontations.

  4. Choose a way to notify each other about the book choice. Email, myspace, facebook, or text messaging are great ways to share info.

  5. The book chooser should check out some YA book reviews. Book Club Queen will help you keep up with what other people your age are reading.

  6. Meet on the agreed upon date. Catch up a little, eat something, get a Frap, then TALK ABOUT THE BOOK. Check out our general book club questions for help.

  7. Have fun and learn from each other! Remember, there is no such thing as a bad opinion, stupid question, or wrong answer when you're discussing your personal thoughts. Difference of opinion is okay!
