Gabriella Richards has spent much of her life traveling to Cali, Columbia for one month a year. She goes to visit her mother's family and to absorb the culture of her mother's birthplace. She also goes to visit her mother's burial site. Gabriella's mother died in a plane crash on her way to visit Cali. Gabriella was raised in Hollywood, California by her very loving father. They had an amazing relationship in which she could tell him anything. That is all about to change.

Tell Me Something True was an interesting read. I enjoyed thinking about what I would do if I were in Gabriella's position or her mother's, for that matter. This story had an air of mystery to it that drew me in. The struggle of each woman between what her family would want her to do and what she wanted to do was very evident and well written.
If you chose this book as a book club pick, I don't think that you will be disappointed. There are many topics of discussion that a group could pull out of the story. Betrayal, love, family, and the struggle to make everyone happy are situations that we all find ourselves in. Get your favorite Latin food and music, gather up your book club group, and enjoy your discussions!
