I have read and enjoyed all genres of writing from science fiction to religious romance and historical novels.

There is very little that author Stephen King has written that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. He has the ability and talent to create novels that are totally satisfying.

"The Stand" is rich with flawed characters we fall in love with and others we learn to hate, elements of good vs evil (whatever form that may take), realism and fantasy, and ever changing descriptive scenes and page turning suspense that keep us riveted and deprived of sleep.

The epic tale weaves in and out of the lives of many characters yet it is easy to follow the different paths the story leads us.

Because this is an extremely long novel (800-1100+ pages depending on the edition), the pleasure of reading this book goes on and on, capturing the reader's life and dreams for the duration.
