It’s a page turner!
by: Denise Morin

At first I did not want to like the book. It was all about your conquests, I felt, and did not have lofty ideals, yet I kept reading. In time, I came to realize that your book is likely the most honest book I have ever read. It reminds me of the Television show, "Jersey Shore" In "Jersey Shore", the action is about getting action. It's all about hooking up and that is what people are doing as they go through life if they are not in a relationship.
Whether you troll in the "capital city" at El Torino's or look for a tomato in the produce section of Shaw's that is what it is all about. Making contact, feeling needed, feeling bliss and keeping the times "out of bed" as smooth as they can be, When life throws you a curve, finding out that its hard to find people that will support and help you through the crisis.
I really liked it! It made me analyze a lot and I see that it would be great reading for book clubs. Most of us will not find the cure for cancer nor resolve any of the world's crises because just finding someone to care about us while we are caring about them and making a living, etc is a lifetime of work on its own.
Respectfully,

Masterfully Written!
by: Archie Kent-Texas

The imagery and wit grab you at the first few paragraphs – some sentences so masterfully constructed that the manuscript has a fluid quality. I can’t believe J.M.! I’ve had my share of experiences but damn, mine are nowhere near his. I have learned a great deal from J.M.’s book, to tell you the truth.
The plot is real good, as if it’s not based on true events,
People love twists and turns,
Holding their breath,
Being at the edge of their seats with anticipation.
I would, go as far as saying; Hollywood would eat J.M.’s book up if marketed well.
J.M.’s writing style is wonderful.
THE TIME of MY LIVES by J.M. Valente is awesome!

This book allowed me to escape my world for a while and be in J.M.'s world.
I found it amazing what this man when through and came out of it as well as he did!

Needless to say I am inspired!

In regards to photo
by: Kimberly Doucette

I'm always looking to read new books and spend a lot of time searching book sites for them. I came across The Time of My Lives by J.M. Valente and began to read whatever was available in order for me to make up my mind as to whether to buy this book or not. The one star I have given the book is not even for the book. I just looked at the author's photo and couldn't understand why the author is pointing. I have given one star for arrogance. That's what the author looks like. What does the pointing signify? I judged the book by it's cover and decided not to purchase it. I've never seen an author's photo like this before. The pointing just bothered me and gave me the impression that he is demanding and arrogant. This may sound dumb to others who write their comments but that photo prevented me from buying the book. Not a very nice gesture of pointing at people and he has a very scary and worn facial expression with an ugly smirk. At that point I didn't care what the book was about.

This book flows very!
by: Camille

As an award winning and published poet, author and screenwriter and a female to boot; I found the author to be a breath of fresh air regarding his total respect for women. The . It not only allows the reader to feel a part of J.M. Valente's life but it also takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster in order to keep the reader's attention. Which it most definitely accomplished. Congratulations to J.M. Valente for a book very well written.

J.M. Valente is a great author and a wonderful person. The Time of My Lives touched my heart not only regarding the hard times he experienced but also the way he allowed the readers both male and female to realize what the meaning of respect is. This is a book that everyone should purchase. It remains with the reader long after the last page is read.
Fabulous job J.M.Valente

Very Well Written
by: Brendan

I have NOTHING negative to say about this book. It is very well written and keeps the reader wanting more. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I can see why people of all ages will like it. You show that chivalry is not dead (although in this day and age chivalry is on life support). It also shows that you are a hopeless romantic and that you believe that with the love of a good woman by your side nothing is as bad as it seems. You really open up about yourself and how you dealt with your marriage, trying to make it work even when you knew it was over. Most woman would think you were a chauvinistic self-proclaimed whore for cheating on your wife. That is not the case in this situation. You truly do a great job letting the reader know that you still loved your wife but you just weren't IN love with her anymore. You really drive home the point that your philandering wasn't solely based on physical pleasure but the only reason you did involve yourself with other woman was because like every other warm-blooded human you wanted to love someone and be loved. After all isn't that what we all want, to have someone that wants us as much as we want them. I also applaud you for not settling. You knew what it would take to make you happy and you wouldn't stop looking until you found it. And I truly commend you for opening up and speaking about how you loved your sons and very much wanted to be a part of their lives. Something that was very uncommon back in those days and even more so in today’s society. My favorite part, which happens to be the saddest part, is how you go into detail about your relationship with your brother and his addiction and untimely passing. That to me was my favorite and most touching part. It made me think of myself and my brothers and really revaluate our relationship. All and all J.M. Valente your book is a great read and it is one I would recommend to men and woman everywhere. Especially the men of this day and age, it could really teach the men of today that woman aren't possessions they are gems and they deserve to be treated as such.
A SPLENDID BOOK OF A FASCINATING REAL LIFE!
P.S. If I could I'd give it 10 stars

Jealousy!
by: Denny M.

People trash what they are Jealous of and that's a sin!
I know J.M and I was there at alot of what he went through! This is a true telling of this life so far, he's loses, he's gains, he's up and downs. I found it amazing that he handled it so well. I had told him many times, that he should write a book of his life someday! I'm really glad he did, and mentioned me in it!
All the best to him!

It's an ok read
by: Jocelyn Burns

This book is hardly a 5 star read. I do agree that polio is nothing to snub one's nose at. What I found to be annoying about this book which I read with an opened mind and as a teacher of literature is that the author is trying to copy the lifestyle of John Travolta's character in Saturday Night Fever. All the ladies wanted him. With all due respect to the author, writing about kissing girls at the age of 5 and booty calls at 14 do not send the right messages out. No one really cares or wants to know about how many women a man can get. For one to write a book containing these aspects of their lives give the reader one and only one feeling, the writer has one big ego and wants the world to know it. This book had a few good aspects and the author's ego should have not gotten in the way. Leave it to Xlibris to once again publish anything as long as they get their money from someone who otherwise would probably never be published.

Jealousy is one of the seven deadly sins!
by: Anonymous

Jealousy is one of the seven deadly sins!
Charles & Roseanne Whittier your jealousy of Valente's life shows. Because you didn't take any notice of the heartaches he endored! You took note of his goodtimes and focused on them.
Maybe you should read it again with an open mind.
If you have a mind? Mind you polio is a very serious condition for a young child to endure!
"The Time of My lives" By J.M. Valente is real, orginal, heartfelt, and a very unique life story.
It's a story of one mans tials and tribulations, his triumphs amd failures that you, Charles & Roseanne Whittier, could never have dealt with successfully!
So once again, jealousy is one of the seven deadly sins.
A fantastic read=Five stars, plus easily!
Well worth the price!

Another conceited macho man from the past
by: Charles and Roseanne Whittier

Picked up a copy of The Time of My Lives by Valente.
How many times can the same story about men being players be written? It was one hell of a boring read with it's repetition of finding and hunting down women on a constant male ego trip. To top it off, this so called writer just kept on praising what a stud he is. An intelligent reader will see right through the constant statement of how special women are. To a player anything female is special. It's an insult to women and an insult to men who don't need to write a book about how many times they got tail. If I didn't see this writer's photo on the book, I would think it was a teenager who wrote it. What a waste of money. What a horrible book. The only think that made sense was why he took a stroke. Chasing women, booze and God knows what else led to it. Best part of the book, his battle with polio which no one needs to know. We all have had battles in our lives. Don't waste your money on this crap.
