A little background on how I became a Harry Potter fan

I could probably author an entire Harry Potter fan web site. I know all fans think they are the biggest fan so I won’t try to take that title. However, I could safely say I'm the biggest fan of HP that I personally know with maybe my friend Kellie and brother Josh coming close.

Who would've thought that a book supposedly written for kids could have such an impact on adult readers? I know I didn't. As a matter of fact, I didn't get into the Harry Hype until book 4 was on it's way to the shelves. I actually bought the first 2 movies used at a trader store about 8 months after the second one was out on video. I proceeded to watch both movies and LOVE them and then watch them again and again and again. After about a month of Harry Potter repeat (and my husband was thinking it might be time to look for a less obsessed wife) I decided it was time to read the books. After all, we know I'm a book lover so what was I waiting for?

I didn't read the books at first on principle. The whole world was Harry Potter crazy and I was above that. Yeah right. From page 1 of The Sorcerer's Stone I was completely hooked. I read until I couldn't get any further and then joined the rest of the ranks waiting on pins and needles for the next book and movie to go public.

And so I entered the world of Harry Potter. I became a true fan. I've read every book multiple times in these few short years and get excited every time I go back to the beginning and start the series over again. I can, and will, talk to you relentlessly about the theories or motivations behind the characters and the plot and heatedly debate Snape's behavior toward Harry for all those years before we found out whose side he was really on.

And I must say, if you're a fan you're a fan of the movies too. Even though they can't come close to including every detail from each book, so far they've done a great job. That brings me to my book rating. I'll go ahead and tell you I give each book a 5. Same for each movie. I have favorites but overall they are all fantastic in every way!

You'll have to read my reviews to see how I came up with this order of favorites!

Although we think the world of Harry Potter has come to an end with Book 7 finished, there is still so much to talk about!
