This was a book I read for a book group that I am in. The book is about the plague that hits Eyam, England in 1665 and how the towns people deal with it. For some reason, it was so real to me and I wanted to find out more about this place.

Sure enough it is a real village and it has a museum with some of the artifacts from that time period too. I found online a list of all the names of the people from the town who died in a one year period of time and it was so saddening to see the how many families were wiped out.

One thing that struck me was how there was a Stubbs family (me) listed and also a Thornley family listed, one of the ladies in my book group. Almost 400 years later and the two families are still neighbors. Wonderful book.
